CAIRO - 2 February 2026: The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has increased the maximum financing available for micro-enterprises from LE 266,000 to LE 292,000, in a move aimed at supporting growth and sustainability for small businesses.
The FRA also raised the maximum insurance coverage for micro-projects to LE 390,000, up from LE 312,500, to better protect entrepreneurs against business risks.
Non-bank financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises reached LE 95.7 billion by the end of 2025, growing 12.1 percent from the previous year and benefiting nearly 3.1 million people.
FRA Chairman Mohamed Farid said the updated limits provide stronger financial support and protection, helping micro-businesses expand and remain sustainable.
The authority stressed that these steps are part of broader efforts to enhance non-bank financial services and provide tailored solutions for small-scale enterprises, workshops, handicrafts, and home-based businesses.
