CAIRO - 16 November 2025: Mars Egypt, the local subsidiary of the global food and pet care giant Mars, inaugurated two new production lines at its chocolate manufacturing facility, in an expansion valued at around $280 million over a total area of 16,000 square meters, government officials announced.

The new lines mark one of the largest recent investments by an American company in Egypt’s food industry and reflect continued confidence from multinational manufacturers in the Egyptian market.

According to the Ministry of Industry, the expansion represents a significant boost to the country’s industrial sector and aligns with national plans to scale up high-value manufacturing.

Mars Egypt is also moving ahead with an ambitious growth plan that targets increasing the factory’s production capacity to 140,000 tons per year in 2025, alongside raising exports to reach 93 percent of total output, strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub for food processing.

Since beginning operations in Egypt, Mars has evolved from serving domestic demand to becoming a key exporter to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. The company’s expansion underscores its commitment to sustainable investment, innovation, and international-quality production standards.
