During the meeting, Sherif highlighted the significant opportunities available in the South African market for Egyptian construction materials, particularly in products seeing rising demand amid the country’s ongoing large-scale development projects, according to a press release issued on Saturday. The ambassador referred to data presented by the embassy’s economic and commercial office showing South Africa’s implementation of ambitious infrastructure and development plans, matched by Egypt’s strong export capabilities and competitive advantages in related products under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
The participants agreed on a set of coordinated follow-up steps between the Export Council and the embassy’s economic and commercial office to promote Egyptian companies in the South African market. These measures aim to identify real export opportunities, ensure that Egyptian producers are promptly informed of them, and enable the submission of competitive offers to expand the presence of Egyptian products in the South African market over the coming period.
