CAIRO - 6 November 2025: The Egyptian government revealed new indicators from its Economic and Social Development Plan for FY 2025/2026 outlining the progress of natural gas connection projects during the fiscal year ending June 2024.

The results reflect the continued nationwide expansion of natural gas services in line with the state’s strategy to maximize the use of domestic resources, reduce subsidy burdens, and support the gradual transition to clean energy in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Key highlights include:

- 675,000 new residential units were connected to the natural gas grid during the year, bringing the total number of connected units to 14.9 million since the launch of the program.

- 148 new areas received natural gas for the first time, as part of the government’s plan to broaden the geographic reach of gas services.

- 1,406 commercial establishments and 97 factories were connected, supporting industrial and commercial activity while reducing dependence on liquid fuels.

- 46,200 vehicles were converted to run on natural gas during the year, raising the total number of converted vehicles to 553,400 since the national conversion program began.

- 75 new natural gas fueling stations were opened and put into operation across various governorates, strengthening infrastructure for gas-powered transportation.
