CAIRO – 17 October 2025: Egypt’s government has increased the fuel prices, marking the second rise this year with nearly LE 2 on various range of petroleum products.

In a statement, Friday, the Ministry of Petroleum said that the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products has decided to adjust fuel prices, in all grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, and compressed natural gas (CNG) used for vehicle fueling.

The new announced prices came as follows:

Gasoline 95: LE 21.00 per liter (previously LE 19.00)

Gasoline 92: LE 19.25 per liter (previously LE 17.25)

Gasoline 80: LE 17.75 per liter (previously LE 15.75)

Diesel: LE 17.50 per liter (previously LE 15.50)

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG): LE 10.00 per cubic meter (previously LE 7.00)

The ministry noted in the statement that these announced prices will remain stable for at least a year.

Earlier, however, the government announced that this rise in fuel prices may be the last major hike if current global price levels hold. Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly added in September statements that with this final adjustment, the diesel subsidy will not be fully removed.

Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi also confirmed that the fuel price adjustment expected later this year will mark the last increase for 2025.

Speaking during a meeting with editors-in-chief of newspapers and news platforms in September, Badawi explained that if the increase takes effect in October, fuel prices will remain unchanged through December. “The upcoming hike will be final, and there will be no further increases this year,” he said.
