Minister of Supply Dr Ali Moselhy forms a central procurement committee in the Food Industries Holding Company to buy ration card goods

CAIRO – 28 July 2017: Minister of Supply Dr. Ali Moselhy formed a central procurement committee in the Food Industries Holding Company to contract buying ration cards goods, a Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade official source said.

Control bodies will supervise the committee in order to end the role of intermediaries and face any contract manipulation during importation.

Food Industries Holding Company subsidiaries contract buying food goods amounting to LE 40 billion annually to be put on the ration card which will help create a competitive environment. Companies will also be able to buy food products and goods at low cost.

A group of trade sector representatives is drawing up a plan to develop internal trade while considering trade opportunities geographically and meeting citizens’ needs. The plan is designed to check informal, establish storage areas and model markets and reduce costs for end users.
