CAIRO – 20 August 2025: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and the Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to enhance cooperation in the field of green hydrogen, the Cabinet announced.
Madbouly emphasized that Japan is a vital development partner for Egypt, underscoring the strategic value of this collaboration.
He highlighted Egypt’s commitment to prioritizing renewable energy, with a clear vision of positioning the country as a regional and global hub for the production and export of green hydrogen, in line with international sustainability goals.
This agreement follows a series of twelve MoUs and letters of intent signed during the recent Egypt–Japan Investment Forum, covering multiple sectors.
The forum brought together prominent Egyptian and Japanese companies to explore opportunities and expand joint investments across both markets, reinforcing the growing economic ties between the two nations.
