CAIRO - 17 August 2025: Egypt’s ICT sector continues to gain momentum, with 74 outsourcing firms committing to employ 60,000 specialists between 2022 and 2024. The country now hosts more than 260 outsourcing centers, including 190 run by global companies, while its electronics design industry has grown to 83 companies in 2025, with plans to expand to 120 by 2028.
Egypt also ranks first in the region in attracting investment into ICT start-ups, according to Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat.
These figures were highlighted in a high-level meeting chaired by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik, and senior officials.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that President El-Sisi reviewed a detailed report on upgrading Egypt’s telecommunications infrastructure to boost efficiency, widen coverage, and deliver high-quality services nationwide.
The President instructed continued investment in network capacity, expanded coverage, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, particularly fifth-generation (5G) services.
In a follow-up briefing, Minister Talaat presented the ministry’s achievements in outsourcing, electronics design, and investment attraction, underscoring Egypt’s position as a regional leader in tech investment.
President El-Sisi reaffirmed the state’s full support for the ICT sector, calling for the launch of new initiatives and the creation of specialized training centers to prepare highly qualified talent.
He stressed transparency in talent selection, advanced training programs, and the development of clear, actionable strategies for artificial intelligence with a strong focus on research, innovation, and optimal resource use.
