CAIRO - 11 August 2025: The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed an agreement on Monday with China’s Changzhou Ramada Blanket Industry Co., Ltd to establish a textile manufacturing project for home fabrics and garments in the Qantara West Industrial Zone.

The project involves $22.6 million (LE 1.13 billion) in investments, covering an area of 80,000 square meters, and is expected to create 1,500 direct jobs.

With an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons of fabrics, 4 million bedding sets, and 1 million car carpet sets, the project aims to export 90 percent of its output to global markets.

SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din said the zone has so far signed binding contracts for 32 projects in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, with total investments exceeding $822.2 million, covering 2,097,400 square meters, and generating 45,600 direct jobs.

He emphasized that most of these projects target exports, leveraging the zone’s strategic location as a link between continents, integrated with industrial areas and ports.

The Chairman highlighted SCZone’s strategic focus on boosting export-oriented industries, deepening local manufacturing, and localizing textile and garment supply chains, from raw material production to manufacturing fabrics and ready-made garments for leading global brands.

He added that SCZone continues to intensify efforts to attract more investments in priority sectors, aligning with Egypt’s industrial deepening and export growth goals. Upcoming months will witness new project openings in Qantara West, supported by advanced infrastructure, utilities, trained labor, and investor-friendly incentives.

Founded in 2016 in Jiangsu Province, Changzhou RAMADA specializes in an integrated textile production chain, including polyester yarn fabric, weaving, pre-finishing, printing, dyeing, post-finishing, ready-made blankets, carpets, quilts, bathrobes, brushed fabrics, and a wide range of home and apparel textiles. The company produces over 10 categories of home textile fabrics and more than 80 clothing fabric products.
