Cairo – August 3, 2025: At the opening of the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly underscored the government’s strong commitment to supporting Egyptian expatriates, describing them as an essential extension of the nation.
"Each of you is an ambassador for Egypt," Madbouly said, encouraging attendees to take pride in representing their country and to speak openly about Egypt’s achievements in ensuring security, economic progress, and stability, despite the regional and international pressures it continues to face.
Addressing more than 1,200 Egyptians from over 40 countries, Madbouly emphasized the state’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the wellbeing of its citizens living abroad. He pointed to the consistent attention President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi gives to this file, noting that Egyptians overseas are treated with the same care and importance as those residing at home.
“Each of you carries Egypt with you. You represent its values, its resilience, and its accomplishments,” he added, affirming the government’s appreciation for the vital role played by Egyptians abroad in shaping the nation’s image and supporting its development from afar.

Speaking from the conference venue in Cairo, the Prime Minister described Egyptians abroad as ambassadors for their homeland, capable of representing the country’s progress and sharing the truth about the realities on the ground. He praised the diaspora’s role in showcasing Egyptian civilization internationally and their contributions to the communities they reside in.
The sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference aims to solidify the partnership between Egypt and its global diaspora, ensuring that the contributions of expatriates remain integral to the nation’s path forward.
Madbouly expressed deep appreciation for the steady rise in remittances from Egyptians abroad, noting their crucial role in supporting the national economy, particularly in light of global economic pressures.
He credited recent increases in foreign currency inflows to policy measures adopted by the Central Bank, including the adoption of a flexible exchange rate regime, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing the economic reform program.
The Prime Minister also encouraged further investment from the diaspora in Egypt’s ongoing development, especially in the context of building the “New Republic,” a national vision for modernization and growth supported by attractive incentives and streamlined processes.
The Prime Minister detailed efforts made by the government to improve services for expatriates, including the expansion of digital consular services and stronger outreach to second- and third-generation Egyptians abroad.
He highlighted the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Emigration in launching initiatives and improving accessibility to public services for Egyptians overseas, often in collaboration with other government entities. These efforts, he noted, reflect a broader national strategy to maintain strong connections with the diaspora and foster their engagement with the country’s future.

Madbouly also acknowledged the economic challenges Egypt has faced in recent years due to international crises but emphasized the country’s progress in key areas.
He pointed to improvements in GDP growth, declining inflation and unemployment rates, and a stronger investment climate.
The government, he said, continues to implement structural reforms while also expanding social protection programs for the most vulnerable. Initiatives such as “Decent Life,” “100 Days of Health,” and “Housing for All Egyptians” are part of a broader strategy to uplift communities and improve living standards across the country.
The conference saw the participation of several high-ranking government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Housing Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno, and Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif. Also present were members of Parliament and representatives from both the public and private sectors.
The conference agenda features a series of interactive sessions addressing the most pressing issues for Egyptians abroad. Topics include education, consular services, investment opportunities in housing, agriculture, and industry, and the latest initiatives designed to strengthen ties between the diaspora and their homeland. These sessions are designed to reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to engaging its expatriate community and integrating them into national development efforts.
In his address, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Aaty echoed the Prime Minister’s message, affirming that the conference is a direct outcome of President El-Sisi’s directives to deepen engagement with Egyptians abroad.

He reviewed key developments since last year’s edition of the conference, particularly in the digitization of consular services and the launch of several initiatives tailored to expatriates. These include housing programs such as “Your Home in Egypt,” investment platforms like “Your Farm in Egypt,” education-focused projects including “Your School in Egypt” and the upcoming “Your University in Egypt” initiative, as well as financial services such as “Open Your Account in Egypt,” “InstaPay,” and the insurance reform campaign “Your Insurance in Egypt,” which has increased compensation rates for insurance claims.
Abdel Aaty also noted the government’s efforts to expand employment opportunities for Egyptian workers abroad and to equip them with the necessary skills through training and certification programs. He emphasized the importance of maintaining direct, year-round communication with Egyptian communities overseas and listening to their feedback and proposals.
On foreign policy, the minister reaffirmed Egypt’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and condemned recent media campaigns attempting to undermine Egypt’s humanitarian role in Gaza. He emphasized that Egypt has delivered 70 percent of all humanitarian aid that has entered the Gaza Strip and reiterated that the country will continue to support the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and establish an independent state.
