New Alamein - 20 July 2025: During a joint press conference in New Alamein, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, emphasized the strategic nature of Egyptian-German relations, welcoming Germany’s Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development on her first official visit to Egypt.
“Germany is a key strategic partner. We are committed to enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and development,” Abdel Aty stated.
He highlighted that more than 1,000 German companies are already operating in Egypt, with expectations for further investment driven by Egypt’s pro-business environment.
Talks also covered expanding cooperation in water security, migration, technical education, and industrial development.
The minister stressed the importance of Germany’s role in supporting Egypt’s plans to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.
Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to advancing the bilateral partnership, referencing recent discussions between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. He also called for greater German involvement in supporting legal migration pathways, noting Egypt’s demographic advantage as a youthful workforce ready for upskilling.
