Egypt's car imports decline to $147 million in October 2024

CAIRO - 14 January 2024: Egypt's car imports declined in October 2024 compared to the same month last year 2023, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
The agency's data said that Egypt's total car imports amounted to about $147 million and 406 thousand in October 2024, while they were about $277 million and 33 thousand in October 2023; a decrease of $129 million and 627 thousand.
 
The decline in car imports for the month came for the second consecutive month, as Egypt's car imports declined to reach $163 million and 755 thousand in September, while they were about $218 million and 854 thousand in the same month last year 2023, a decrease of $55 million and 99 thousand.
 
Egyptian imports of passenger cars have achieved a leap since the beginning of this year until last August, compared to the same period last year 2023, as Egypt's total imports of passenger cars reached about one billion and 692 million dollars during the period from January to last August, up from one billion and 155 million dollars in the same period last year 2023, an increase of about 536 million and 623 thousand dollars.
