CAIRO – 24 July 2017: The Ministry of Finance applied the value-added tax (VAT) on the prices of internet ADSL services by 14 percent starting from July 2017, the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center said Monday.

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced that a new four-percent increase in the ADSL internet prices will be applied as of September, Middle East News Agency stated.

Sources inside the ministry added that the hikes come as part of the government's enforcement of the VAT Law, upon which the tax increased from 10 percent to 14 percent.
