Thursday stock market trading sees EGX close week on high note

Cairo – May 16, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) returned to the green zone at the end of this week, led by EGX 100 with the highest gains.

Benchmark index EGX 30 surged 3.27 percent to end the session at 26,142.84 points.

EGX 70 was up by 3.46 percent to close at 5,665.24 points, while EGX 100 soared by 3.66 percent to 8,160.90 points.

Thursday trading reported 846.51 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.35 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.752,7 trillion.

Trading on securities reported Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 378.80 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with LE 363.78 million and LE 15.01 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Samad Misr - EGYFERT which surged by 19.16 percent, Misr Fertilizers Production Company – Mopco by 14.58 percent, and Concrete Fashion Group For Commercial & Industrial Investment by 13.73 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad) which declined by 4.87 percent, Egyptian Kuwaiti Holding by 2.32 percent, and Egypt for Poultry by 1.96 percent.
