CAIRO - 30 April 2024: The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of Belarus have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in the investment field between Egypt and Belarus.

The agreement was formally endorsed by Hossam Heiba, the CEO of GAFI, and the Director of the Belarusian agency, Dmitry Krasovsky.

Heiba emphasized that the primary goal of the MoU is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences, to improve the business climate in both countries.

This initiative aligns with GAFI's commitment to bolstering investments in Egypt in line with the national economic development plan.

The MoU encompasses various aspects of cooperation, including the exchange of information on investment prospects, as well as the laws, regulations, and policies governing the investment environment in Egypt and Belarus.

Additionally, it promotes reciprocal visits and business delegations, allowing for the sharing of best practices and insights into investment promotion.

To further enhance collaboration, the MoU encourages the joint organization of conferences and seminars, specifically tailored to attract investors from both Egypt and Belarus.

Moreover, it facilitates consensus-based meetings between businessmen and companies, fostering effective communication and paving the way for potential partnerships to thrive.
