CAIRO - 17 March 2024: Egypt seeks to boost its exports of both petroleum and non-petroleum goods, to elevate its annual export earnings from the current $53 billion to $145 billion within the next six years, Ahmed Samir stated during his meeting with Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.

Samir added that Egypt plans to increase industrial production by 20 percent, enhance the green economy's contribution to the gross domestic product to a minimum of 5 percent, and provide number of job openings, targeting 7 to 8 million opportunities.

He highlighted the expansion of industrial complexes across 15 governorates, with investments totaling LE 10 billion.

This development aligns with Egypt's strategy to become a hub for sustainable manufacturing while actively participating in global trade networks.

The government's comprehensive plan focuses on improving the capabilities of Egyptian workers, enhancing the work environment, and fostering strategic business partnerships.

In March, Minister Samir announced a notable increase in Egyptian merchandise exports during the months of January and February 2024. The total export value reached $6.12 billion, reflecting a 6 percent rise compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

Earlier in February, Egypt is set to implement a new strategy with the aim of increasing its annual exports to global markets, reaching a target of $100 billion annually, according to a statement by Samir.
