Pushed by Egyptian buying, EGX continues green streak during Wednesday trading

Cairo – February 14, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) remained in the green for Valentines Day, maintaining a 3-day positive performance fueled by Egyptian purchasing.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.95 percent to end the session at 28,874.99 points.

EGX 70 jumped by 2.05 percent to 7,140.85 points, while EGX 100 climbed by 1.96 percent to close the session at 10,018.43 points.

Wednesday's trading saw 1.73 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 5.302 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.031,9 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian traders as net buyers with LE 29.86 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with LE 23.39 million and LE 6.46 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Arabia Investments Holding which climbed by 15.64 percent, QALA For Financial Investments by 14.97 percent, and Orascom Investment Holding by 11.93 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Egyptian Arabian (Themar) Comp. For Securities & Bonds which dropped by 9.87 percent, Osool ESB Securities Brokerage by 9.04 percent, and Acrow Misr by 7.5 percent.
