CAIRO - 3 February 2024: During the past few days, the Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Amr Hanafy, opened the first factory in Egypt and the Red Sea for the manufacture of fiber yachts in the industrial city of Hurghada.

- It is the first and largest of its kind in Egypt to manufacture fibres, yachts and Zodiacs, and it was opened to coincide with the 54th National Day celebrations of the Red Sea.
 
- It is specialized in the production of fiberglass boats, whether mini-yachts or rubber boats, and is built on an area of 2000 square meters.
 
- The production line began approximately a year and a half ago until the factory’s production has now reached 18 units per month, and they are seeking to reach a production of 50 units per month in the coming period.
 
- The first unsinkable boat was manufactured in Egypt, by producing yachts to European Union specifications at a lower cost than manufacturing them in European countries.
 
- Most of the materials used are manufactured in Egypt by 85 percent to localize the industry and deepen local manufacturing for the purpose of reducing imports, and paying attention to it to reduce the use of hard currency.
