U.S. dollar ends Friday's banking transactions low against EGP

CAIRO – 20 July 2017: The U.S. dollar exchange rate fall against the Egyptian pound in Friday's banking transactions. Similarly, the European Euro, British Pound and Arab currencies decreased.

The exchange rate of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for the U.S. dollar is LE 17.83 for buying and LE 17.93 for selling, down from LE 17.88 for buying and LE 17.98 for selling on Thursday.

Recording the highest exchange rate, the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank recorded LE 17.90 for buying and LE 18 for selling, after LE 17.93 for buying and LE 18.2 for selling.

Al Baraka Bank came at the second highest rank, offering an exchange rate of LE 17.85 for buying and LE 17.95 for selling, compared to LE 17.91 for buying and LE 17.99 for selling.

Egypt’s biggest private sector bank Commercial International Bank (CIB) recorded LE 17.9 for buying and LE 18 for selling.

Banque Misr offered LE 17.80 for buying and LE 17.92 for selling, down from LE 17.84 for buying and LE 17.94 for selling.

Egypt’s biggest state-owned bank National Bank of Egypt (NBE) offered the lowest exchange rate at LE 17.82 for buying and LE 17.92 for selling.

As for the euro, it fell to LE 20.48 for buying and LE 20.60 for selling, compared to LE 20.61 for buying and LE 20.73 for selling on Thursday, according to the CBE.

The GBP (British Pound) leveled down to LE 23.08 for buying and LE 23.22 for selling, down from LE 23.19 for buying and LE 23.35 for selling.

As for the Arab currencies, the Saudi Riyal slightly went down to LE 4.75 for buying and LE 4.78 for selling, according to the CBE.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti dinar recorded LE 58.87 for buying and LE 59.25 for selling and the Emirati Dirham registered LE 4.88 for selling and LE 4.85 for buying.
