Bourse ends Monday trading on a varied note

Cairo – January 8, 2024: After a brief Christmas break, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kickstarted the week’s trading with a mixed performance, recording a market cap. loss of LE 4.9 billion.

Benchmark index EGX 30 inched into the red by 0.02 percent, closing the session with 25,344.63 points.

EGX 70 surged by 1.52 percent to 5,764.13 points with EGX 100 following with a climb of 1.21 percent to end trading at 8,250.47 points.

Monday’s trading saw 1.05 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.98 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.751,8 trillion compared to Thursday’s LE 1.746,9 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Arab and Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 38.41 million and LE 17.55 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with LE 55.97 million.

The top gains of the session were by Mena Touristic & Real Estate Investment which climbed by 19.93 percent, Raya Holding for Financial Investments by 19.8 percent, and Egyptian Gulf Marseilia for Real Estate Investment by 19.19 percent.

The largest losses of the session were Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad) which dropped by 4.66 percent, Arab Aluminum by 3.64 percent, and Egyptian Real Estate Group by 3.38 percent.
