Robust trading on stock market leads return to green zone during Wednesday trading

Cairo – December 13, 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rebounded during Wednesday trading amid Egyptian trading, adding around LE 77 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 rebounded with gains of 2.92 percent to end the session at 24,773.92 points.

EGX 70 surged by 3.07 percent to 5,279.66 points, with EGX 100 jumping 3.12 percent to close at 7,670.80 points.

Wednesday's trading saw 1.709 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.298 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.6882 trillion, compared to yesterday’s close of LE 1.6107 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 56.41 million. Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with LE 32.90 million and LE 23.50 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Misr Fertilizers Production Company – Mopco which surged by 20 percent, Asek Company for Mining – Ascom by 19.1 percent, El Ahli Investment and Development by 12.75 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Cairo Oils & Soap which dropped by 5.45 percent, United Arab Shipping by 4.95 percent, and Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool by 4.79 percent.
