Wednesday bourse trading ends at an all-time high for benchmark index

Cairo – November 8, 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) landed in the green to close Wednesday trading with an additional LE 35 billion in market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 saw a significant rise of 2.54 percent to end the session at 23,986.56 points, an all-time high for the index.

EGX 70 was up by 0.75 percent at 4,654.48 points, while EGX 100 climbed by 0.74 percent to close the session at 6,901.29 points.

Wednesday's trading saw 1.286 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.129 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.616 trillion, a new record for the exchange, an additional LE 35 billion from yesterday’s market close.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 313.94 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with LE 256.302 million and 57.638 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Misr Duty Free Shops which climbed by 19.94 percent, National Housing for Professional Syndicates by 18.01 percent, and Upper Egypt Flour Mills by 16.72 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by North Cairo Mills which dropped by 8.41 percent, Grand Investment Capital by 5.5 percent, and Arab Developers Holding by 5.18 percent.
