CAIRO – October 25, 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with key economic policy chiefs to discuss latest Egypt's recent economic developments. The meeting was with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Central Bank of Egypt Governor, Hassan Abdallah, General Intelligence Service Director, Abbas Kamel, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El Said and the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait.
The meeting reviewed the indicators of the overall performance of the Egyptian economy during the past period as well as progress in the implementation of the initiative for reducing basic commodity prices.
El Sisi was also updated on the major economic targets and cooperation efforts in this regard with the various international financial institutions, the Spokesman for the Presidency, Ahmad Fahmy, said in a press statement.
El Sisi directed for the further enhancement of reforms related to the financial and fiscal policies and boost the role of the private sector in the development process as part of the state’s efforts to improve the overall indicators of the economy, diversify its production structure, and increase promising opportunities to attract investments so as to contribute to generate jobs and GDP growth rates.
The President gave directives to continue intensive cooperation between the government and the private sector within the framework of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices and remove any impediments that might encounter the implementation, with the aim of mitigating burdens on citizens.
