Tuesday bourse trading sees benchmark index in the red to close on varied note

Cairo – October 24, 2023: Tuesday trading on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended with a mixed performance after a strong showing the last two days, losing around LE 11 billion in market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was down by 0.86 percent to end the session at 22,377.39 points.

On the other hand, EGX 70 was up by 0.82 percent to 4,177.24 points, followed by EGX 100 with an uptick of 0.46 percent to close the session at 6,324.69 points.

Tuesday trading reported 891.60 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.72 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.549 trillion, declining by around LE 11 billion compared to Monday’s LE 1.560 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 190.68 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with LE 99.92 million and LE 90.75 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation which climbed by 20 percent, General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction by 18.92 percent, and Egypt Aluminum by 17.15 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Eastern Company which fell by 10.99 percent, Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing by 6.64 percent, and Egyptians for Investment & Urban Development by 5.02 percent.
