Egypt, Argentina collaborate to enhance Egypt’s tourism sector

CAIRO - 19 Septemer 2023: In an effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism and antiquities sector, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, held a meeting with Argentina's Ambassador to Cairo, Gonzalo Urriolabeitia. The discussions aimed to explore ways for enhancing tourism ties and collaborating in the field of antiquities.

Minister Issa highlighted the positive developments in tourism flow from Argentina recently. The meeting provided an opportunity to acknowledge the growing interest among Argentinian tourists in visiting Egypt, a testament to its diverse and captivating tourist attractions and archaeological treasures.

The discussion also revolved around bolstering cooperation between Egypt and Argentina in archaeological endeavors especially the ongoing restoration projects carried out by Argentinian archaeological missions in Luxor.

These restoration efforts are almost done and the restored archaeological tombs are scheduled to be opened to the public in the near future.

Ambassador Urriolabeitia emphasized Egypt's significant standing as a preferred destination for Argentinian tourists, who are drawn to the country's distinct blend of tourism offerings and archaeological marvels. The ambassador underscored the importance of further strengthening tourism ties between the two nations to capitalize on the unique appeal of Egypt's tourist destinations.
