IDSC, Trends signs a cooperation protocol to enhance research and knowledge

CAIRO - 13 September 2023: The Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) signed a cooperation protocol with the UAE’s Trends Research and Advisory center. The cooperation protocol aims to enhance ways of scientific, research and academic cooperation between both centers.

Prime Minister Assistant & IDSC Chairman, Osama Elgohary, added that the signed protocol will serve as a start for IDSC and Trends to publish research papers and studies across different sectors such as: economy, public policy and best international practices.

The Assistant Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation with Trends as the signed protocol includes setting broader frameworks for cooperation, whether in the field of conducting research in areas of common interest, exchanging experts and researchers, and publishing in scientific publications and journals.

Egypt and the UAE have a longstanding relationship, the trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE increased by 6.5 percent to $4.6 billion during the first 11 months of 2022. Earlier this September, Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), the export-financing arm of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), also signed a financing agreement with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), to reinforce trade and economic relations between the UAE and Egypt.

Under the agreement, a loan facility of $100 million has been established, to support transactions involving UAE exports to Egypt.
