Bourse closes trading session in the red, losing approx. LE 11B in market cap.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continues to fall into the red zone, losing around LE 11 billion in market capitalization.

Benchmark index EGX 30 dropped by 0.59 percent to close the session at 17,033.99 points, followed by EGX 50 with a decline of 0.85 percent to 3095.95 points.

EGX 70 was down by 0.52 percent to end at 3022.16 points, while EGX 100 dropped by 0.58 percent to end the session at 4580.57 points.

Today’s trading saw 538.63 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.113 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.110 trillion, dropping from yesterday’s 1.121 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Arab and Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 146.414 million and LE 66.756 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net sellers with LE 213.171 million.

The top gains of the session were by Ibnsina Pharma which climbed by 10.94 percent, Lecico Egypt by 8.5 percent, and B Investments Holding by 7.85 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Alexandria Containers and goods which declined by 6.51 percent, Oriental Weavers by 4.84 percent, and General Silos & Storage by 4.83 percent.
