Egypt's foreign trade hits $29.032B during Q1of 2022/2023

CAIRO - 27 March 2023:Egypt's foreign trade reached about $29.032 billion during the first quarter  (Q1) of the fiscal year 2022/2023, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

 
The CBE noted that Egypt’s imports hit about $19.067 billion during the first quarter of 2022/2023, while exports recorded about $9.965 billion.
 
According to the CBE’s monthly report, the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the most important trading partners, 14 countries, accounting for 64.6 percent of the total volume of trade exchange, amounted to about $18.763 billion, of which about $11.681 billion exports and about $7.081 billion imports.
 
The CBE indicated that the UAE ranked first in terms of the most important trade partners with Egypt during the first quarter of 2022/2023, with a volume of trade exchange amounting to about $2.338 billion, of which $1.489 billion was imports, and $849.2 million was exports, 
 
China came second with trade exchange amounting to $2.16 billion, of which $1.919 billion was imports, and $241 million was exports.
 
The United States of America ranked third with a volume of trade exchange amounting to $2.114 billion, of which $1.183 billion was imports, and $931 million was exports, followed by Saudi Arabia in fourth place with a volume of trade exchange of $0.081 billion, of which $1.695 billion was imports, and $385.9 million was exports.
 
Germany ranked fifth with a volume of trade exchange of $1.257 billion, of which $824.7 million was imports, and $433 million was exports, while the volume of trade exchange with Spain amounted to $1.169 billion, of which $280.1 million was imports, and $889.4 million was exports.
