CAIRO - 24 Janaury 2023: The Egyptian government is currently working to speed up the release of goods and merchandise at the various Egyptian ports, while ensuring that the pre-shipment system runs effectively, contributing to speeding up and facilitating the release procedures, accordign to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli. 
 
Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Cabinet, stated that the total goods released during the period from January 18 to January 23, 2023 amounted to more than $1.5 billion.
 
The Spokesman stated that the meeting witnessed a discussion of some proposals and mechanisms that would speed up the completion of procedures and the exit of containers at the ports. This includes working to provide permanent technical support at the port, in order to immediately solve any obstacles, and holding training courses for customs employees in dry ports, while continuing permanent coordination between the Customs Authority and port authorities; To work on overcoming any obstacles regarding the handling of incoming goods.
 
The Prime Minister directed the formation of a joint committee from the Ministries of Finance and Transport, to develop a vision and plan to facilitate the completion of procedures and the exit of containers at the ports, as quickly as possible.
