MSMEDA pumps LE 6.8B to 222K small, micro projects during 2022

CAIRO - 24 January 2023: The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) made available financing for small and micro enterprises at a value of LE 6.8 billion, during 2022, according to the agency’s CEO, Basil Rahmi
 
Rahmi added that these funds contributed to establishing and expanding the activity of about 222,000 projects, and providing more than 367,000 job opportunities.
 
This came during a meeting held by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, with the CEO of the MSMEDA, to follow up on a number of the agency's work files.
 
During the meeting, Rahmi referred to the non-financial services provided by the agency, explaining that the one-stop shop services included, during 2022, the issuance of 5,573 final licenses for new projects, and 2,803 final licenses to reconcile the situation, while it issued 7,390 temporary licenses for new projects, and 5,205 temporary licenses to reconcile the situation.
 
One-stop services also included the issuance of 529 commercial registers, 3,822 tax cards, and the provision of social insurance for 2,589 people, in addition to providing customer benefits certificates, as well as project classification certificates.
 
The CEO of the MSMEDA added that the agency contributes to linking various projects and marketing channels from public sector companies and commercial chains in the private sector, as more than 260 projects have been linked, with a total sales volume of about LE 6 million.
 
HE also referred to the agency's interest in the file of expanding the registration of suppliers, as the number of beneficiaries from the application of this file reached more than 2,800 beneficiaries in dealing with government agencies in all governorates, and the value of tenders amounted to more than LE 177 million.
 
Rahmi drew attention to the agency’s efforts in the field of organizing exhibitions, where many local and international exhibitions were held, and the total value of sales and contracts through these exhibitions amounted to more than LE 285 million, and about 3900 exhibitors participated in them with products for their projects in various sectors.
 
He also referred to the integration deals, and what has been implemented in this regard, as these deals amounted to about 238 deals among projects, at a value of LE 28.8 million. He also reviewed the agency’s efforts in the field of training, as the number of entrepreneurship trainees reached more than 8,000 trainees.
