Egypt allocated LE 4.4 bln investments for Red Sea governorate

CAIRO - 5 January 2023: The Egyptian government has allocated investments for the Red Sea Governorate, according to the 22/23 year plan, at about 4.4 billion pounds, of which 57.6% is funded by the public treasury.
 
Its most important projects are as follows:
 
1- Sanitation
 
- Expansion, replacement and renewal of sewage stations and networks in the Red Sea Governorate.
 
- Replacing and renewing drinking water stations and networks in the Red Sea Governorate.
 
- A project to provide needs to face rain.
 
 
2- Health services
 
- Completion of curative care hospitals and specialized medical centers.
 
- Developing and equipping primary care units in the governorate. Developing and equipping comprehensive health insurance facilities.
 
3- Other services
 
- Designing and coordinating the entrance to the Red Sea Governorate within the framework of developing the visual image as one of the outputs of the strategic plan, replacing and renovating the existing mosques in the governorate.
 
- Establishing buildings for the State Cases Authority with the aim of developing judicial services provided to citizens, as well as providing a suitable place for the advisors and employees of the Authority.
 
- Raising the efficiency of government slaughterhouses and establishing new ones. Supporting and developing the regulatory agencies in the Bahr Governorate, completing the solid waste system in order to preserve the environment.
 
 
4- Street lighting and road paving
 
- Supporting the needs of local units in the city of Qusayr, completing social services buildings, and vocational rehabilitation centers for the disabled.
 
- Developing rural women in order to protect and care for women health, social and psychological.
Development of the mining sector.
 
- The National Social Housing Program.
 
It is worth noting that Major General Sherif Ahmed Saleh, Chairman of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, said that the authority has a strategy to implement projects within Egypt’s Vision 2030, and its first goal is to provide the largest number of jobs and attract investments, whether local or foreign, to the governorates of Upper Egypt, and in 10 governorates in particular.
 
Chairman of the Local Administration Committee in the House of Representatives Saleh stressed that the authority is working to achieve sustainable development in Upper Egypt, to provide a decent life, and confront the aforementioned problems in Upper Egypt, most notably immigration and overcoming development gaps between regions.
 
He further added that it seeks attracting internal and external investments, in order to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for the people of Upper Egypt, and to implement development projects with the participation of its people in the governorates of Upper Egypt.
