CAIRO - 14 December 2022: Egypt and the United States of America (USA) increased 13.4 percent on an annual basis, during the first 9 months of 2022, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed.
 
 
The CAPMAS elaborated that the trade exchange between Egypt and the United States rose to $7.3 billion during the period from January to the end of September 2022, compared to $6.5 billion during the same period in 2021.
 
Egypt’s exports to the United States amounted to $1.8 billion during the first 9 months of 2022, compared to $1.9 billion during the same period in 2021, with a slight decrease of 1.7 percent.
 
Egypt’s imports from the United States of America recorded $5.5 billion during the first 9 months of 2022, compared to $4.6 billion during the same period in 2021, an increase of 19.5 percent.
 
The most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to the United States of America during the first 9 months of 2022 were clothing at a value of $1.1 billion, plastics and its products with a value of $136.5 million, carpets and floor coverings with a value of $117.4 million, vegetable preparations with a value of $83 million, and glass and its articles with a value of $68.7 million.
 
 
While the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from the United States of America during the first 9 months of 2022 included seeds and medicinal plants worth $1.9 billion, fuel, mineral oils and their distillation products worth $1 billion, pharmaceutical products worth $326.2 million, and boilers, machinery and automatic equipment worth $293.1 million. dollars, and iron and steel worth $267 million.
 
US investments in Egypt amounted to about $9.2 billion during the fiscal year 2020-2021, compared to $7.7 billion during the fiscal year 2019-2020, marking an increase of 19.8 percent.
 
Remittances of Egyptians working in the United States of America recorded $1.4 billion during the fiscal year 2020-2021, compared to $975.2 million during the fiscal year 2019-2020, an increase of 40.9%.
 
While the value of remittances from Americans working in Egypt amounted to $42.8 million during the fiscal year 2020-2021, compared to $49.9 million during the fiscal year 2019-2020, a decrease of 14.1%.
 
The population of Egypt recorded 104.3 million people in 2022, while the population of the United States of America recorded 334.8 million people in 2022.
 
 The number of Egyptians residing in America, according to the mission's estimates, is 1.5 million Egyptians until the end of 2021.
