CAIRO, Dec 12 (MENA) - Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla said Egypt succeeded over the past seven years in carrying out 27 projects for development of gas fields with total investments, estimated at approximately $21 billion.

The total natural gas production rates have now reached 6.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day, added Molla in an address at Al-Ahram Energy Conference, delivered on his behalf by Board Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company Magdi Galal Monday.

The Mediterranean region is still full of many resources, he said, adding the coming period requires cooperation of all peoples to achieve hopes, stability and development for countries.
