CAIRO - 15 November 2022: The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) asserted Egypt is the largest producer of renewable energy in Africa since 2010.

Egypt is the second, largest country in solar energy production in Africa, according to an infographic, published by the center Tuesday.

It added Egypt is the third, biggest country in wind power generation in Africa in 2020.

The infographic highlights Egyptian efforts to attain transition to clean energy.

That can be attributed to the country's efforts aimed to raising its capabilities of producing solar energy and wind power and capitalizing on renewable energy investments during the period between 2010-2020, according to it.

Egypt generates solar energy at a capacity of 1,680MW , it said, adding Egypt's production of wind power hit approximately 1,380MW.
