CAIRO - 14 November 2022: Mansour Automotive Group will start assembling electric cars in Egypt within a year, according to the CEO of the group, Ankush Arora.

Arora added in statements on the sidelines of the COP27 climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, that his company provided 150 electric cars to the summit's guests.

He welcomed the imminent launch of the auto industry development policy, saying: "We hope that it will be announced within 3-4 weeks, so that the picture will be clear about the new catalysts and regulations related to electric cars... And soon, within a year, the assembly of electric cars will begin here in Egypt."

The group's owner, billionaire Mohamed Mansour, revealed in a recent interview with "Bloomberg" that his company aims to produce 15,000 electric cars in Egypt over the next three to five years.
