CAIRO - 19 October 2022: Egypt's economic conference will kick off Sunday in Cairo to discuss the future of the country's economy.

Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad quoted Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli as affirming that the conference seeks to reach a roadmap for the country's economy during the coming period.

The conference also aims to develop clear policies and measures to increase the competitiveness and flexibility of the Egyptian economy, the spokesman added.

The conference's agenda includes various sessions divided into three political approaches, i.e. macroeconomic policies, empowerment of the private sector and creation of a business environment, and formulation of a future road map for the priority sectors in the government’s program, the spokesman noted.

According to the spokesman, several roundtable meetings will be held on the sidelines of the conference to strengthen channels of communication among all attendees, with the participation of representatives of the Egyptian government, including the prime minister, and a wide range of economic experts and representatives of political parties.

The spokesman pointed out that a website was launched on October 5 to brief citizens on the activities of the conference, adding that citizens can visit the website via the following link: www.eec2022.gov.eg.

Over 300 economic proposals have been reviewed so far by a technical committee formed in this regard, the spokesman said, adding that the respective authorities will contact those who submitted such proposals to discuss how to make use of them in making economic policies.
