GDP per capita increases to LE 62.5K during Q4 of 20/21

CAIRO - 16 October 2022: Gross domestic product at market price and current prices increased during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020/2021, reaching LE 1.507 trillion, compared to LE 1.326 trillion during the same quarter of the previous fiscal year 2019/2020.
 
This hike was reflected in the increase in the GDP per capita to LE 62.5 thousand, up from LE 58.6 thousand during the compared period.
 
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated in the September information bulletin that the GDP in the fiscal year 2020/2021 recorded the highest rate in the second quarter, reaching LE 1.664 trillion, and the first quarter came second with LE 1.629 trillion.
 
The GDP is a monetary measure of the market value of all the final goods and services produced and sold in a specific time period by countries.
 
The GDP of the private sector grew at a higher rate than the public sector, at a rate of 8.1 percent  During the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020/2021 on an annual basis, while the GDP of the public sector increased by 5.5 percent.
 
The bulletin data revealed that imports increased during the fourth quarter of Eg2020/2021 to LE 260.2 billion from LE 196.3 billion in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Moreover, exports also increased to LE 130.8 billion, up from LE 85 billion during the compared period.
