CAIRO - 14 September 2022: Emirati National Central Cooling Company PJSC (Tabreed) Company has signed a partnership agreement with Egyptians for HealthCare Services Company to provide district energy services for the new “Capital Med” medical city project.
 
The contract value is 306.4 million dirhams, equivalent to $83.4 million.
 
The “Capital Med” project is located in Badr City. It is planned to be developed in four phases and contains 700 intensive care units, 70 operating rooms and more than 15,000 health service providers.
 
Tabreed will finance, build and operate a district power plant with a production capacity of 19.5 thousand tons.
 
After that, the plant's production capacity is scheduled to increase to 30,000 tons, according to a statement from Tabreed on Wednesday.
 
The total cost of the “Capital Med” project is estimated at LE 21 billion, which is located on an area of ​​140 feddans on the borders of Badr City, east of Cairo.
 
The first phase includes 400 beds, up to 2,000 beds, and then 4,000 beds at the end of the project.
 
The first phase of the Medical City has been awarded to contractors and will be completed within 18 months.
 
The “Capital Med” Medical City project is the first work of the Egyptians for Healthcare Company in Egypt.
 
“Capital Med” was established through an investment consortium that includes the two companies; the Egyptians for Health Care by about 10 percent, and Cairo Investment and Real Estate Development by 14 percent, and the rest is distributed to foreign investors.
