CAIRO - 1 September 2022: The relevant Higher Ministerial Committee has developed a strategy to maximize foreign yacht tourism in Egypt, according to a recent statement from the Ministry of Transport.

The committee’s decisions included the creation of a single digital window for foreign yachts, to be managed, operated, supervised and developed by the Maritime Transport Sector at the Ministry of Transport.

Among the decisions of the committee was the setting of a unified tariff for trolley fees on all state-owned berths, passenger terminals and tourist ports in a single currency.

The committee said in its statement that foreign yachts will be allowed to leave from any tourist port or marina without being restricted to leaving from a port or marina of arrival.

According to the work of the committee, a unified code will be issued for the establishment and operation of ports and ports in Egypt to be a guide for all dealers.

The committee’s decisions included completing the procedures for obtaining the necessary approvals and permits for the yacht within a period not exceeding 3 days. In the event of a repeat visit to the country, the period for obtaining those approvals and permits should not exceed one day.

A link will be placed on the foreign yacht’s digital single window website to the official websites of the Passports, Immigration and Nationality Department to obtain an electronic visa to enter the passengers on the yacht’s board, as well as to the official website of the Suez Canal Authority.

This comes in an attempt to exploit Egypt's geographical location in the middle of the world and the length of Egypt's coasts, which reach more than 2,000 nautical miles.
