The plan includes introducing new quays stretching on a total of 35 kilometers, and having a depth of 15-18 meters. After completion, the total length of quays at Egyptian seaports will become 73 kilometers. In addition, breakwaters are being established along 15 kilometers.

Further, waterways are being enlarged for their total capacity to become 22 million containers (370 million tons of goods) per annum up from 12 million containers (185 million tons of goods).
