CAIRO - 23 June 2022: Egypt's exports of cast iron and steel went up 1 percent during the first four months of 2022, registering about $472 million against $468 million in the corresponding period of 2021.
 
A report released Thursday by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries (ECBM) said that Egypt's exports of cast iron and steel went to 64 countries.
 
It added that five countries received nearly 70.5 percent of the total iron exports, topped by Spain that imported iron from Egypt at a total of $95.260 million, followed by Italy ($88.372 million) and Saudi Arabia ($79.736 million).
 
It added that Canada came fourth in the list of countries importing Egyptian iron and steel with a value of $49.832 million in the relevant period, while the US came fifth with $28.753 million.
