CAIRO – 14 July 2017: Investment and international Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr discussed on Friday with visiting Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Deputy Director General, Middle Eastern and Europe Department Miyahara Chie the progress of education partnership initiative between the two countries.

They reviewed the rate of implementing the projects that had been agreed on during Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Tokyo in February 2016, the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation said in a statement.

The ministry is working on finalizing the required procedures before signing the second tranche of a grant to fund importing research and scientific tools and instruments for the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology at a cost of nine million dollars.

All projects of the current and future cooperation portfolio between Egypt and Japan were discussed by Nasr and Miyahara, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the JICA official underscored her agency's keenness on supporting Egypt's development projects as well as boosting the current cooperation.
