Egypt sets custom dollar at LE 18.64 for essential commodities in June

CAIRO - 1 June 2022: Egypt will set the customs dollar at a rate of LE 18.64 for basic commodities and production requirements, according to the Ministry of Finance announced Wednesday.
 
The Customs Authority stated in a statement on its official page on Facebook, that the price of the customs dollar rose from LE 17 in May to LE 18.64 in transactions, on  Wednesday, June 1, according to instructions sent by the Ministry of Finance to the administration.
 
The price of the customs dollar is the price that the Ministry of Finance used to set for the dollar against the pound on a monthly basis, which it uses to determine the value of goods that are imported from abroad, and the value of customs duties imposed on them.
