CAIRO – 5 April 2022: “Egypt Can” conferences by the Ministry of Immigration has resulted in a Monday protocol signed by the Ministry of Military Production and an Australian company that recycles banana tree waste into paper, fertilizers, and textiles.

The protocol will also transfer this experience to the African continent, attract new investments to Egypt, and help open new markets in Africa, Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram said.

The series of conferences are titled this year “Egyptian Industry Can,” to which Ramy Azer, an Egyptian-Australian received an invitation from Makram. He approached the Ministry of Immigration and his idea culminated in the protocol even before the conference was launched.

Azer said Egypt has a competitive edge because it is a gate to Africa and a gate for African products to the world. He will establish the first recycling plant of banana tree waste in Egypt in a year.
