Egypt’s textile exports surged to $287M in 2 months

CAIRO - 4 April 2022: Egypt’s textile exports surged by about 25 percent to $287 million in January and February 2022, up from $229 million in the same period of 2021, the Textile Export Council said.
 
The council said in a statement on Monday that the Egyptian textile and spinning exports increased by 26.5 percent to hit $176 million, compared to $132 million in 2021.
 
The Egyptian exports of home furnishings went up by 23 percent to reach $120 million in 2022, compared to $97 million in 2021, the statement added.
 
Chairman of the council, Saaed Ahmed, said a cooperation deal has been signed with the Egyptian Customs Authority to facilitate procedures to export Egyptian products to foreign markets.
