CAIRO - 28 March 2022: Egypt is currently witnessing a rapid developmental transformation in all fields, including the protection and development of natural reserves to preserve the natural and cultural heritage and natural resources in them, through their development and management in accordance with international systems, according to the Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad.
 
Fouad elaborated that the transformation achieves the preservation of those resources while maximizing the enjoyment opportunities, in addition to maximizing the investment opportunities of the reserve and the plan of land use according to environmental sensitivity to preserve the reserve’s resources and its unique biological diversity while integrating its cultural and social heritage in development plans, which places it among the most important reserves that attract tourism globally and a real model for development sustainable, in which all environmental, social, heritage, cultural and economic dimensions are taken into account, as well as the integration of the private sector.
 
This came during Fouad’s inspection tour of Ras Mohamed Reserve, South Sinai Governorate, to follow up on the environmental conditions and the return of life to the ecotourism sector while preserving the safety of visitors and environmental systems, on the sidelines of the Ministry of Environment’s celebration of the launch of the National Dialogue on Climate Change in Sharm El-Sheikh
 
The tour included a visit to the mangrove area, the visitor center and the various areas of the reserve, as well as an explanation of the importance of the mangrove area as a witness to climatic changes.
 
Fouad met with a number of visitors to the reserve, tourists and media professionals who praised the reserve's precautionary measures and the system followed in addition to the unique nature of the reserve.
 
Ras Mohammed Reserve is distinguished by its unique diversity, which deafens migratory birds and clear beaches, in addition to wild and marine creatures and species of rare plants, which makes it a unique model of the picturesque nature in which rare species of trees and living creatures are present.
 
The minister stressed the importance of the Ras Mohammed Reserve for eco-tourism globally, as it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, in addition to the unique heritage and cultural nature of the region, which distinguishes it and preserves the local population in the region as an essential and indispensable part of the development paths implemented by the ministry.
 
“Together, we can protect biological diversity from the effects of climate change, as Egypt will host the Cop 27 Climate Conference at the end of this year in Sharm El Sheikh,” she stressed.
