Oil prices hover close to 2019 highs on OPEC output cuts, U.S. sanctions | Reuters

CAIRO - 22 February 2022: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek Al Molla discussed on Tuesday with Russian Minister of Energy Nikolay Grigoryevich Shulginov a memo of understanding on natural gas, which will be signed shortly between the two countries.
 
The Egyptian-Russian deal aims at promoting cooperation and exchanging expertise in the use and transfer of natural gas.
 
The two ministers discussed at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Qatar cooperation in the field of converting vehicle fuel to gas and light of the two countries' interest in expanding the use of gas, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
 
Ministers Molla and Shulginov discussed the possibility of increasing the activities of Russian companies operating in the oil sector in Egypt to increase investment opportunities.
 
The Russian minister expressed his country's support to Egypt in hosting the COP27 summit late this year and holding future meetings between the two sides to coordinate on joint cooperation at the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF).
