Egypt's production index for transformative, extractive industries dips 0.46% in November

CAIRO – 26 January 2022: Production index of manufacturing and extractive industries (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) declined 0.46 percent in November on a monthly basis, recording 107.94 (primary), compared to 108.44 in October (final), according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
 
 
CAPMAS noted that the pharmaceutical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries’ index reached 129.32 during November 2021, compared to 114.45 in October 2021, with an increase of 12.99 percent, due to the increase in the demand for medicines in light of the coronavirus crisis.
 
 
 
The manufacture of other transport equipment index rose 3.95 percent, reaching 263.86 during November 2021, compared to 253.84 in October 2021, this is to meet the needs of the market. 
 
 
 
On the other hand, CAPMAS revealed that the index of the beverage industry amounted to 232.43 during November, compared to 312.56 during October, marking a decrease of 25.64 percent due to market needs as a result of the winter season.
 
 
The index for the manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products and medical devices amounted to 61.71 during November 2021 compared to 92.08 during October 2021, with a decrease of 32.98 percent, due to the market needs.
