Existing in the Egyptian market since 2006, Danone Egypt has showcased exponential growth over the years in terms of investment and production lines. In a roundtable discussion attended by a number of journalists, Haitham Sadek, General Manager and Managing Director of Danone Egypt and North East Africa reveals the company’s volume of investment which currently exceeds EGP one billion. He further elaborated that Danone Egypt currently owns 9 production lines at Obour Factory, a farm in Nubaria, which is the third-largest farm in Egypt with an area of 154 acres, with more than 5,000 cows.

Furthermore, Sadek explained that the company has achieved a 25% growth in the volume of its business within two years, where the last year witnessed the best results for the company in the past 5 years, despite the many challenges facing the Egyptian and global markets as confronted by the repercussions of the pandemic and the inflation. Additionally, Sadek stressed that this is a reflection of the economic reforms being implemented by the government since 2016, the stability of the currency rate, as well as the success in controlling the COVID-19 crisis and its implications.

All the previously mentioned factors contribute to the growth of the Egyptian economy during the past year, pointing out that the company is currently exploring the possibility of increasing its production capacities and adding production lines, during the next two years, which will be reflected in an increase in capacity by 30-40%.

Danone Egypt remains true to its mission striving to meet the customers’ daily needs by delivering healthy and responsibly produced food and drinks and to maintain its strong position in the market as the leading essential dairy products manufacturer. Danone, over the years, has made a positive contribution to the Egyptian market by providing high-quality products and supporting a healthy lifestyle for all Egyptians.
