Trade exchange between Egypt, Jordan increases by 26.2% in 6 months

CAIRO - 9 November 2021: The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan increased 26.2 percent in the first half of the current year, registering $430.8 million, against $341.3 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2020, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday.


Egypt's exports to Jordan jumped 26.9  percent in the first half of 2021 compared with the year before, registering $348 million against $274.3 million.

Meanwhile, Egypt's imports from Jordan registered $82.8 million in the first half of 2021, compared to $66.9 million recorded in the same corresponding period of 2020.

The value of remittances from Egyptians working in Jordan hit $678.5 million in 2019/2020 fiscal year against $654.2 million registered in the corresponding period of 2018/2019 fiscal year.

Remittances from Jordanians working in Egypt recorded $11.1 million in 2019/2020 FY compared to 17.7 registered in 2018/2019.

The value of Jordanian investments in Egypt hit $41 million in the first half of FY 2020/2021, against $7 million recorded in FY 2019/2020, with an increase of 485.7 percent.
